Description

Shahu Maharaj as was one such great social reformer. He used to like to be called a farmer, Labourer. He had a very simple life despite being the King. His way of dressing was also very ordinary. He used to mix up with his subjects in an ordinary dress. He used to have chatni Roti in any household. He would routinely eat food prepared by so called lower castes. He used to play with their unclean kids and at times used to sleep there only on the floor by spreading his blanket. He used to console them in their sad moments and share thier happiness.

He used to help people in their difficulty generously. This king of villagers used to roam about in bullock cart with Mahar, Maang (Low Caste) servants. Big Landlords or officers used to salute him at the door step of his car and inside the car there used to be ordinary paople. He was a completely down-to-earth king forgetting Royal status and mixing with local people was a true leader of masses. He had lot of powers in his princely state but still had a very  simple behaviour and that was the reason why he became the leader of masses, Bahujan Samaj. This was the secret of his seccess.
